The Sallatunturi area features a hundred kilometres of ski trails, and the surrounding villages offer their own routes. In summer there is even more to discover! The UKK Trail runs through Salla from Hautajärvi towards Urho Kekkonen National Park.
There are several marked routes for mountain biking. The true natural gems of the area include the Autsing gorge, the giant’s kettles of Aholanvaara, Kaunisharju, and the Rämiäjänkä nature reserve. Paddlers can enjoy the foaming waters of the Naruskajoki River.
The terrain information is based on airborne laser scanning. In addition to brand-new contour lines at 20-metre intervals, features such as waterways and cliffs are depicted much more clearly than before. Trails, wetlands, buildings, rocky terrain and difficult vegetation are also represented with greater accuracy.
The map is printed on Tyvek, a durable and waterproof material that withstands rain and up to 20,000 folds without tearing or fading.
