Our Nordic Skating Maps are among our most advanced maps, based on extensive data collection by skating expert Mårten Ajne. They are designed to make long-distance ice skating safer and easier. Lake ice formation and coastal freezing patterns are shown using color-coded and numbered zones that indicate the typical order in which they freeze. Ice assessment is further supported by markings for known cracks, shipping lanes, currents, and other weak spots. The maps also include recommended starting points, parking areas, and suitable portages.
