The mining trail winds 25 miles through a landscape shaped by mining and iron handling for centuries. But today there is silence in the forests. Along the walk between cabins and mills, you are surrounded by babbling brooks, vast marshes and peaceful forest lakes.
The first part of this book describes all stages of the Bruksleden, with detailed terrain maps, information on barbecue areas, wind protection and communications. Here, the author also shares his personal favorites – from the coziest rest areas to the best bathing lakes along the trail. The second part contains suggestions for day hikes and overnight trips that you can do by combining different stages. The book is intended both as a planning tool and a source of inspiration, regardless of whether you are an experienced hiker or whether you have just started exploring the Bruksleden.
The author Carl Törner grew up in Fagersta and Västerås. Today he lives in Stockholm and works as a freelance journalist and documentary filmmaker, but regularly returns to the forests of Bergslagen.
Each map in this book is provided with a QR code. Scan the code with the mobile camera and you can easily follow the trail on the phone.
