Take the train to the walk!
Get on the train in Stockholm. Within an hour or two, you'll be in the town that will be your base camp. Stay overnight near the station and get access to both restaurants and outdoor seating. The walks then take you out on marked trails between nature reserves in the surrounding landscape, but you can also find longer cultural walks where the city stands for the sights.
